Sally and Matt at the Wheelchair OTs were absolutely fantastic. After many years of dealing with public and private wheelchair services where I felt like I was never getting the right assessment or my needs met, these two were a breath of fresh air. I learnt so much from Sally at my initial assessment about my posture, support and pressure relieving. She had so much knowledge and also made me feel so comfortable. I also never felt pressured to buy a product, but felt like I could make an informed choice with all of the guidance they had given me. I felt in really safe hands. When there was a delay from the supplier, but I was desperate to have my new backrest before my wedding, Sally and Matt came at 8am on Saturday morning so I could have it in time. They were both amazing and would recommend to all wheelchair users looking for new equipment.

My mum needed a 'tilt in space' wheelchair, as her Alzheimer's condition had worsened. Sally came out to assess mum, but unfortunately mum was not able to be assessed as her medication had knocked her out. Sally was most accepting and simply said she would return on another day. No mention of wasted time or extra costs. She was able though to assess enough to know which type of chair mum would need. Sally returned at the weekend and mum was much more able to be assessed fully. The new chair was fitted with great care and detail, with a full and thorough explanation given to the care team and ourselves. We had chosen to opt for the hire in a fixed term contract to see how mum would get on before purchasing. Sadly mum passed away only a few weeks into the hire agreement. Sally & Matt were so kind and helpful during this sad time. They collected the wheelchair and even refunded a large portion of the prepaid hire costs. Sally & Matt have been amazing throughout. Professional, kind, efficient, knowledgeable and compassionate. They deserve 10 stars.
Matt has helped several locations across the company. He supported staff wheelchair training, safe equipment use such as hoists and slide sheets, completed assessments and handled repairs and maintenance. Absolutely top notch service from Sally who couldn’t have done more for my MIL who was in urgent need of a more permanent wheelchair solution. The patience, attention to detail along with absolute dedication for making sure the patient is as comfortable as possible was outstanding. Sally was brilliant & the company ethos is to be accessible to all, so the one-off consultation fee covered all meetings, mileage & support calls. I had no clue who to book initially & who covered BERKS, so I would 💯 recommend Wheelchair OTs for their patience, professionalism & desire to do the very best by their client - to include working out of their normal catchment area & being empathetic towards the impact of my Mum’s dementia. Their background in the NHS is the icing on the cake to understand a cross-section of individual situations & solutions.
